Biological Activity
The activity is determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of IL-8 production by human PBMC. The ED50 for this effect is less than 10ng/ml corresponding to a Specific Activity of 100,000IU/mg. Please note: results may vary with PBMC donors.
Description
BLyS Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 153 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17007 Dalton.
The BAFF is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Formulation
Each mg contains 1.6mg mannitol and 1.2mg HSA.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Purity
Greater than 95.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized BLyS in sterile 18M¦¸-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Source
Escherichia Coli.
Stability
Lyophilized B cell Activating Factor although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18¡ãC. Upon reconstitution B Lymphocyte Stimulator should be stored at 4¡ãC between 2-7 days and for future use below -18¡ãC.
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
