Description
Somatostatin Synthetic is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 14 amino acids, having a molecular mass of 1637.9 Dalton and a Molecular formula of C76H104N18O19S2.
The CAS# is 38916-34-6.

Amino Acid Composition
Ala-Gly-Cys-Lys-Asn-Phe- Phe-Trp-Lys-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Cys-OH.

Formulation
The protein was lyophilized with no additives.

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.

Purity
Greater than 98.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC.
(b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.

Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Somatostatin in sterile 18M¦¸-cm H2O not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Stability
Lyophilized SST although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18¡ãC. Upon reconstitution Somatostatin should be stored at 4¡ãC between 2-7 days and for future use below -18¡ãC.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
